Fascinating, high-definition footage provided by Banff Lake Louise Tourism. Internationally-acclaimed snow artist Simon Beck was captured over many, many hours as he made Banff National Park his latest winter canvas.

It may be warming up outside but this video will still give you the chills.

Internationally-acclaimed snow artist Simon Beck, made his first trip to Canada in February to make his mark (albeit a temporary one) in Banff National Park.

Beck creates detailed geometric designs using nothing more than a compass, a map drawing and a pair of snowshoes. He plans his steps through the snowy mountain canvas carefully.

Between Feb. 21 and Feb. 27, Beck created a howling wolf design at Lake Louise Ski Resort, a maple leaf at Sunshine Village, and his largest drawing to date — a snowflake at Peyto Lake — a 450-metre piece that took over six hours to stomp out.

The video was presented by The Upthink Lab.

"#Project show tells the visual story of Beck's magnificent imprints on the pristine, mountainous landscape of Banff National Park — his latest winter canvas," said The Upthink Lab in a release.
