Suspect in custody after shooting in southwest Calgary sends 2 to hospital
One man was left in life-threatening condition
One man is in police custody after an early morning shooting in southwest Calgary on Wednesday.
Police were called to the 2500 block of Fish Creek Boulevard S.W. for reports of gunshots in the community of Evergreen at about 2:20 a.m., police said in a release.
Officers found one victim near his vehicle. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
A short time later, police located a stolen vehicle they believed was connected to the shooting at a nearby gas station on Everridge Drive S.W.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was taken to hospital for an unknown medical issue but was later released and taken into police custody.
A passenger in that vehicle was taken to hospital with gunshot injuries. He remains in critical condition.
Police have confirmed they believe the shooting was targeted.
"As this investigation is ongoing, no additional information will be released at this time," the release said.
