Stabbing outside health centre in downtown Calgary leaves one injured
The victim is in stable condition, according to police
Calgary police are investigating after responding to a call of a stabbing near the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre on Saturday morning.
Upon arrival, police discovered a man who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Staff Sgt. Darry Midtdal with Calgary police said an investigation is currently underway.
"At this point, it's hard to say what we're looking for. It could be more witnesses, it could be multiple suspects," he said. "It's under investigation and too early to tell."
The stabbing took place around 7 a.m., according to Midtdal. It's unclear at this stage what led to the incident.
"We may not know right away. The victim is in stable condition, but he may not be able to talk [immediately] due to medication," Midtdal said.
Midtdal said anyone with information can call the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
