A manslaughter charge has been stayed against a Calgary man accused in a fatal stabbing on the Stampede grounds in 2015.

Rinato Toy's charge was stayed because the Crown believed it had no reasonable likelihood of conviction.

Zakariya Mohamed Abdow, 25, was taken to hospital in critical condition after a fight involving a number of people near the midway and died of his injuries months later.
