Police seek driver of dark truck after 2 overnight shootings
No injuries as shots fired at two vehicles in separate incidents
Calgary police are investigating two overnight shootings that are believed to be linked.
No one was injured, but shots were fired from a dark truck at an SUV and another vehicle in two incidents a couple of hours apart.
In the first incident, shots were fired at the SUV near the Whitehorn Community Centre in northeast Calgary at 12:30 a.m. MT. Then, approximately two hours later, another vehicle was shot at in the 6800 block of Temple Drive N.E.
The first shooting was reported by the driver of the target vehicle. The second was reported to police by a witness.
In both cases, the suspect was described as driving a dark-coloured truck. Police did spot a truck matching the description and tried to stop it. However, the truck evaded police and the chase was abandoned because of poor road conditions.
