Man dies after being struck by train at Dalhousie LRT Station

A man died Tuesday morning after being struck by a train at a northwest Calgary LRT station.

Police say the pedestrian fell onto the tracks, was not pushed

A man died Tuesday morning after being struck by a train at a northwest Calgary LRT station. 

The Calgary Police Service says the collision happened around 8:45 a.m. on the inbound tracks of the Dalhousie station. 

The man fell onto the tracks and was struck, police said, noting that he was not pushed.

The man died at the scene. 

A police spokesperson described the incident as an "unfortunate accident." 

Following the collision, the station was closed to CTrain traffic for several hours. It has since resumed normal operations. 

The name of the man was not released.
