RCMP are looking for information after eight plaques were stolen from a park and several buildings in Olds, Alta., earlier this week.

Plaques were stolen from Centennial Park, a large greenspace originally developed in 1967, and buildings in the downtown area. RCMP believe the theft happened overnight, between Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.

The plaques include one about Craig's Dry Goods, a family business established in 1898, and another about Pokotilo Block, a commercial building constructed in 1922 that housed various businesses, from a boot repair shop to a billiards room.

Each plaque has "significant value in describing the history of the building they were attached to," RCMP said in a news release issued Friday.

Police issued a photo of a pickup truck that may have been involved in the thefts, but did not give a description of the vehicle.

RCMP have released this photo of a vehicle they believe to be involved. They did not provide a description. (RCMP)
