Okotoks motorcyclist killed in collision on Highway 529
A 22-year-old Okotoks man is dead after failing to stop at a stop sign and slamming into a pickup truck on Highway 529, police say.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the Saturday evening collision
A 22-year-old Okotoks man is dead after failing to stop at a stop sign and slamming into a pickup truck on Highway 529.
RCMP were called to the collision around 9 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 529, north of Champion, Alta.
The motorcyclist was travelling eastbound when he ran into the rear end of the truck that was hauling a boat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck and two passengers were not injured.
RCMP believe speed was a factor in the fatality. No evidence of alcohol has been found.
