Whisky lovers will sample some of the finest single malts and blends as they raise a glass to multiple sclerosis research.

The fifth annual MS Whiskey Festival circuit wraps up Thursday night in Calgary and features a range of more than 220 whiskies from around the world, including samplings from more than 70 Scottish distilleries, as well as world class selections from Canada, the United States, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan and India.

All proceeds from the event will go to the MS Society, Calgary and Area Chapter.

"I like to think that there's a lot of great whisky out there, and a lot of it is stuff that people have never heard of before," said Andrew Ferguson, the "Scotch Guy" at the Kensington Wine Market in Calgary.

"[This festival is] an opportunity for people to get a little bit outside the box, sample things that they otherwise wouldn't have, and maybe get around the idea of buying based on label."
