Redcliff RCMP responded to the call at approximately 11 a.m. Monday and found the victim on the road.

"They confirmed right away it was a suspicious death," Fontaine said. "They activated [the RCMP's major crimes section], who took over the investigation and the scene."

Any additional updates will take time to release, Fontaine said, but she added that RCMP are not currently seeking any information from the public.

"We don't believe there is a risk to the public at this time," she said.
