Police are looking for a man thought to be in his 30s after a car was stolen with a woman and child inside Wednesday afternoon.

The car was left running outside a restaurant at Marlborough Mall about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The woman's husband had gone into the restaurant when suddenly another man jumped into the driver's seat and started driving away.

The woman pleaded with him to stop and dialed 911.

The man stopped and jumped out at the nearby Walmart, getting into a Mazda 3S with another man — a car that had also been reported stolen. Police said the Mazda's owner had left the keys inside when it was parked in a nearby Marlborough neighbourhood.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, about five-feet-nine-inches tall with a medium build and short black hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, black puffy jacket, grey sweat pants with a black Zoo York logo on the side and black runners.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
