Man charged after 2 women sexually assaulted at Market Mall
Police not naming suspect because of 'extenuating circumstances'
Calgary police have charged a man with sexual assault after two women reported being touched without their consent while shopping at Market Mall in the city's northwest earlier this year.
On the evening of March 23, a woman was in store at the mall when a man — who had been following her around the store — approached her and sexually touched her, police said in a release on Wednesday.
The woman left the store and reported the incident to police.
Later the same day, another woman was shopping in a store when she was approached by a man who then sexually touched her without before fleeing the store.
"Through the course of our investigation, we were able to identify the individual," police said in a release.
The man has been charged two counts of sexual assault in relation to these incidents.
Police said they are not naming the man "due to extenuating circumstances."
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers.
