Alberta's Aurora Cannabis launches same-day home delivery of medical marijuana
Service available in Calgary and surrounding area now, launching in Red Deer and Edmonton area next month
Marijuana delivery services used to be the type of thing you heard about through whispers on university campuses or through friends of friends — now, companies are issuing press releases about it.
Aurora Cannabis, the first company to obtain a medicinal marijuana grow licence in Alberta, has launched same-day home delivery to approved users.

The company will now bring pot directly to the homes of registered clients living in Calgary and the surrounding area within hours of it being ordered.
It plans to expand the service to the Edmonton area next month.
"We are very proud to bring this innovative commitment to our customers, and by next month we will be able to offer same-day delivery to an area covering the majority of the population of Alberta," Neil Belot, the company's chief brand officer, said in a release.
Order by noon, light up by 8 p.m.
If orders are placed by noon Monday to Friday, the company guarantees marijuana delivery by 8 p.m.
The current delivery area encompasses some 1.2 million, including those living in Airdrie, High River, Okotoks, Strathmore and Cochrane.
In June, Aurora said that will expand to include Edmonton, Nisku, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Fort Saskatchewan, and Red Deer.
Aurora Cannabis Enterprises, a licensed producer of medical marijuana, runs a 55,200 square foot production facility near Cremona, Alta., about 80 kms northwest of Calgary.
