Man killed by masked shooters: witnesses

A man was killed in Calgary's northeast Marlborough neighbourhood over the dinner hour on Saturday in an apparent drive-by shooting.

The man, reported to be in his 20s, was shot at about 6 p.m. on the front lawn of a house in the 1000 block of Marcombe Drive N.E.

Witnesses told local media they saw two masked people in a dark-coloured vehicle with tinted windows open fire and then speed away.

The gang unit is currently assisting the homicide unit in the case, Calgary police said.
