One man was injured in a shooting in Calgary's southeast neighbourhood of Radisson Heights Tuesday evening.

Police responded to reports of gunshots heard around Radcliffe Drive and 28th Street S.E., near Sir Wilfred Laurier School, at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Acting Staff Sgt. Derek Coffyne told CBC News.

Police found shell cases at the scene and initially no victims. However, a short time later that a shooting victim arrived at the Peter Lougheed Centre, and police have now connected that man with the incident.

The man, who is known to police, arrived at the hospital in stable, non-life-threatening condition, Coffyne said.

It is still unknown who the shooter was, police said, though they believe a Nissan Infiniti G37 was one of the cars involved in the incident.

Police have not determined whether this was a targeted incident, Coffyne said. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or submit tips to Crime Stoppers through their website or by calling 1-800-222-8477.

Tuesday's shooting adds to a string of recent gun violence incidents in the city. On Monday evening, a shooting was reported in the northeast neighbourhood of Pineridge.

Another fatal shooting in occurred in Radisson Heights on Sunday, and police believe the death to be suspicious. An autopsy for that victim is scheduled for today, police said.

There have been almost 100 shootings so far in the city this year.
