Christmas morning shooting in southeast Calgary leaves 1 man dead

The Calgary police homicide unit is investigating a shooting in the community of Forrest Lawn that left one man dead early Christmas morning.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to the 2600 block of 35 Street S.E. for several reports of shots fired.

Police said the victim was born in 1998, but did not release any more details about him or the incident.

He was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 27. Police said if this is deemed a homicide, this will mark Calgary's 26th of the year.
