Landmark Cinemas opens theatre at Market Mall offering 'premium' experience

Luxury theatre experiences are cropping up in Calgary, and now a new theatre at CF Market Mall is entering the scene, with upgraded comfort, sound and projection systems for moviegoers.

A new luxury theatre by Landmark Cinemas has opened at CF Market Mall in northwest Calgary.

All five of the new theatre's auditoriums offer reclining seats that include headrests and footrests. They also feature upgraded "Laser Ultra" projection systems coupled with immersive Dolby Atmos sound systems.

Despite all the upgrades, regular entry prices remain at $13.99 for adults and $9.25 for children.

Landmark Cinemas, based in Calgary, is the second-largest movie chain in Canada. It operates theatres in two other Calgary locations, in Shawnessy and Country Hills. Those sites also offer reclining experiences.

Visitors to the theatre can purchase tickets at the kiosks, pictured above, in the lobby of the theatre or ahead of time online at landmarkcinemas.com or on the Atom app. (Landmark Cinemas)

"Experiencing a movie in the comfort of our premium recliner seat is a transformative experience, as movie lovers who have made Landmark's Country Hills and Shawnessy theatres their preferred movie-going destination will attest," said Bill Walker, chief executive officer, in a release.
