Arrest made in connection to body found in Upper Mount Royal
Calgary police take one man into custody and think others may have been involved
Homicide investigators say they have arrested one person in connection with the death of a man found in Upper Mount Royal this summer, and they believe additional persons may have been involved.
Calgary police said Tuesday they took one man into custody in connection with the death of Shawn Garry McCormack, 34, whose body was discovered in an alley behind the 1100 block of Frontenac Avenue S.W.
"After reviewing evidence from the scene, scouring CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses, detectives believe several individuals were involved in the homicide," police said in a release.
"While the motive remains under investigation, we have confirmed this incident was targeted."
Officers are in the process of interviewing the suspect, according to police, and when charges are formally laid, his identity will be released.
