Pearce's former wife, Reene Greencorn, and son travelled to High River from Nova Scotia to say their goodbyes.
Greencorn says her 11-year-old son Noah is sometimes angry with Mother Nature about the flood, and he carries his father's ashes with him.
Pearce was one of four people known to have died in the June flood. Another man died in an ATV accident while he was checking on his neighbours’ homes during the flood.
