Usage was restricted to essentials only after a technical malfunction at treatment plant
Officials say the majority of the water restrictions in High River have been lifted, meaning residents there can return to normal water usage.
The town's water treatment plant was shut down Tuesday morning after a technical malfunction caused a flood in the water treatment plant.
Officials were asking people to severely reduce their water usage. Residents are still being asked to restrict lawn watering to one day per week.
The safety of the drinking water was never in jeopardy, officials said.
