A man with a gun opened fire early Thursday morning outside a Calgary nightclub.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., after a brawl inside the Static Ultra Lounge on Memorial Drive Southeast, Calgary police said. Originally, they called it the Sonic Ultra Lounge.

Police said that bar staff were escorting a man involved in the fight from the club when he pulled out the weapon and began shooting indiscriminately. There were no injuries.

Investigators discovered three bullet holes in the club's door and two broken windows. Shell casings littered the parking area outside the nightspot.

Police officers involved in an arrest about a block away initially heard the gunfire and called in backup. A team of police arrived within minutes and immediately closed off the area around the club.

Police said arrests were made, but no weapon was found. No charges have been laid.
