Alberta woman collects Mother's Day flowers for Fort McMurray moms
Lisa Braun of Lethbridge will deliver fresh bouquets to evacuation centres on Sunday
A Lethbridge woman wants to make sure that moms evacuated from Fort McMurray this week get to feel special this Mother's Day.
"They have nothing. They don't even have a home to have a gathering or a Mother's Day meal," Lisa Braun told the Calgary Eyeopener on Friday.
"I just thought — I need to do something, I need to do something for these moms."
Braun is collecting fresh flower donations Friday and Saturday. She will drive them five hours north to Edmonton on Sunday to hand out to mothers at evacuation centres.

Several florists are donating blooms, but Braun says she needs more.
She's asking people to drop off fresh bouquets at the parking lot of the Canadian Tire at 2720 Fairway Road South in Lethbridge from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Braun plans to hand out single buds to mothers, and will do so until she runs out.
"It's Mother's Day weekend. They're going to be spending theirs in an evacuee centre. I don't want that to go unnoticed. They still need to be celebrated and appreciated — especially at a time like this."
