Fatal shooting in northeast Calgary probed by homicide police

Homicide police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Saturday morning in northeast Calgary.

One man was killed and another injured in a shooting in northeast Calgary early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the 5300 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E. at about 3:45 a.m. MT.

Officers found two men in their early 20s inside a vehicle, both with gunshot wounds, police say.

One man was declared dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Local resident Anastasios Pulios says it's not uncommon to hear gunshots in the area. "It's unsafe. The police are doing what they can but there's a lot of crime in the area for some reason," he said.
