2 dead, 1 in critical condition after Macleod Trail collision

Calgary police have confirmed one person is dead and two more are in critical condition following a serious collision on Macleod trail in the city's south end.

Calgary police have confirmed two people are dead and one is in critical condition following a serious collision on Macleod Trail Wednesday.

Police also say one person is in custody in relation to the incident. 

The main thoroughfare is closed between Anderson Road and Canyon Meadows in both directions while police conduct an investigation.

Police say the closure will last throughout the night while the investigation is carried out.

There is no word as yet to the cause of the collision.
