Farah Mohamed Shirdon, the Calgary resident turned ISIS fighter, added to Interpol wanted list
Farah Mohamed Shirdon, the Toronto-born former Calgary resident who travelled to fight with ISIS, has been added to the Interpol wanted list.
RCMP charged 22-year-old in absentia under section of the Criminal Code dealing with terrorism
Farah Mohamed Shirdon, the Toronto-born former Calgary resident who travelled to fight with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, has been added to the Interpol wanted list.
The 22-year-old's name, photo, and description now appears along with hundreds of others on the international police organization's published list of fugitives wanted by law-enforcement agencies around the world.
RCMP charged Shirdon in absentia in September with numerous terrorism-related criminal offences.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Shirdon's arrest and Mounties said at the time they also planned to issue a red notice via Interpol.
Shirdon faces six charges under Section 83 of the Criminal Code dealing with terrorism:
- Leaving Canada to participate in the activity of a terrorist group.
- Participating in the activity of a terrorist group.
- Two counts of instructing a person to carry out terrorist activity.
- Two counts of commission of an indictable offence for a terrorist group.
