Two men face 17 charges following a cocaine and fentanyl trafficking investigation that saw nearly $50,000 worth of drugs seized.

Calgary Police Service received a tip from a member of the public in September 2016 that drug dealers were handing out business cards titled 'TWJ's Catering Service.' Three names and contact numbers were listed on the cards, Calgary police said in a news release.

Police believe no catering company existed and the business cards were a ruse.

An investigation identified two people believed to be involved. One suspect was seen dealing drugs on a post-secondary school property, police said.

Four search warrants were executed on two vehicles and two homes on Nov. 14., in the 200 block of Fresno Place N.E. and the 0-100 block of West Springs Road S.W.

Police seized the following items:

  • 67.7 grams of crack cocaine
  • 742 fentanyl pills
  • 99 fentanyl/heroin pills
  • 31.3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 118.7 grams of powder cocaine
  • $22,010 cash

Jeffery Truong, 21, of Calgary, faces 14 drug and criminal code-related charges and Christian Lay, 24, of Calgary, is charged with three drug and criminal code-related charges.
