Drivers told to be cautious of grizzly cubs in Kootenay National Park
Wildlife specialists in Kootenay National Park are asking visitors to be cautious of grizzly bears spotted near the highway and in roadside stops and a campground.

The bears are frequenting the south end of the park on Highway 93 in British Columbia. Parks staff have closed the Olive Lake day use area and southbound brake check, and posted bear warnings at Redstreak campground, Cobb Lake trail and the Olive Lake northbound brake check.
The female bears and cubs have been spotted in the dandelions and grasses near the highway. Drivers should heed the speed limits and be extra cautious, officials said. The bears will probably remain in those areas until the snow melts at higher elevations.
