Man charged after fatal stabbing at northeast Calgary train station
Victim died of injuries in hospital on Saturday night
Calgary police have charged one man in connection to a fatal stabbing at a train station in the city's northeast.
In a Sunday afternoon statement, the Calgary Police Service said the victim — 28-year-old Tristan Robert George Anderson — was killed in a targeted attack at the Marlborough CTrain station on Saturday night.
Around 6:30 p.m. that night, police were called to the train station for reports of a stabbing. Officers found Anderson with injures when they arrived, police said.
He was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition. He later died.
Theran Keurin Rodrick Dixon, 19, was charged with second-degree murder in Anderson's death.
He will appear in court on Friday.
Six people, including Dixon, were taken into custody. Police told CBC News that five people are now in the process of being released.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
