East Africa Festival gathers on International Avenue
Join Calgary's East African communities for a day of celebration with cultural displays, food, and performances.
Calgary's East African community will gather on August 17 for a celebration of cultural diversity and unity.
In partnership with the Komkan Africana Institute, over 12 East African community groups will showcase the best in their culture's food, art and history. Special presentations will be held throughout the day on the festival's main stage featuring local musicians, dancers and other performers.
Festivities will be held at Unity Park (3111-17 Avenue SE) on Calgary's International Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers invite all Calgarians to visit the event to learn more about the city's vibrant communities, discover new talent, taste the cultural cuisine, and support local businesses in the area.
