CBC Lethbridge attends Word on the Street
The Lethbridge Public Library hosted their annual festival for its 12th year
"CBC is in Lethbridge?" people asked in excitement as they walked through a street of tents at the Lethbridge Public Library's Word on the Street Festival on Saturday.
More than 3,000 people came out on Saturday to enjoy this celebration of arts and literacy including author readings, live music, face painting, story time, workshops, panel discussions and Indigenous cultural programming. CBC Lethbridge was on location as part of our partnership with the Lethbridge Public Library.
Many loyal CBC fans visited the CBC Lethbridge tent to share their favourite areas of CBC and were thrilled to hear we're launching a permanent Lethbridge office to tell stories in the city and surrounding area.
"This is so exciting!" a festival goer exclaimed. "It'll be great to have more coverage and stories from our area."
CBC Lethbridge was on-site gathering story ideas for future reporting and nearly 100 people tried our video both to share their stories. Hear what people had to say below.
