The Calgary Board of Education is welcoming students evacuated from Fort McMurray due to the ongoing wildfire that has devastated the northern Alberta community, the board said Thursday.
"The CBE is already registering students who have been evacuated from their homes, and we are happy to welcome them into our schools," spokesperson Megan Geyer said.
"This will enable them to resume some sort of normalcy during this stressful time."
She said the board will work with Alberta Education to make the transition as smooth as possible.
