Calgary police looking for man who stole trailers with distinct lifted truck
Pair of thefts from Foothills industrial area happened an hour apart in the wee morning hours
Calgary police are asking for help from the public to identify a man caught on video stealing two trailers from the Foothills industrial area.
Around 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, police said the man drove up to a business in the 5500 block of 51st Avenue S.E. in a Ford F350 Platinum Edition pickup truck.
He hooked up a dark-blue, 2014 Load Trail flat-deck trailer, worth about $10,000, to the truck and drove away.
About an hour later, he returned in the same truck and stole a 2013 Mirage dump-style trailer, worth about $7,000.
The first stolen trailer had Alberta licence plate 4RD348 and the second trailer's plate was Y34349.
The perpetrator is described as a white male with a shaved head who was wearing jeans, brown work boots and a black-hooded jacket at the time of the thefts.
The truck used is believed to be a 2008 to 2014 model with a distinct lift kit, black oversized wheels and a sled deck. Its licence plate was covered up.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
