Hot Calgary weather prompts alert from Environment Canada
Records are expected to fall as the mercury hits 28 C this week
Environment Canada has sent out a weather alert for Calgary as record temperatures settle over the city this week.
"These conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat," according to the alert.
"Everyone is at risk from heat, especially older adults; infants and young children; and people with chronic illnesses."

Residents are advised to drink plenty of liquids and keep cool by dressing for the weather and spending some time inside where it's cool.
Normals
The normal temperatures for this time of year hover between 15 C and 1 C, but the forecast calls for 28 C on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
A cold front is expected to move through central Alberta on Wednesday and then head southeast on Thursday, lowering the temperatures to "slightly above normal."
It's already been a hot spring in the city, with a centuries-old record matched on April 19 when temperatures reached 26.7 C.
Another record — this one from 1926 — fell over the course of our mild winter when the city hit 15 C on February 9.
