ASIRT investigating after police fatally shoot man in southeast Calgary
CPS said no officers or other members of the public were hurt in the incident

One person is dead following a police shooting in Calgary's southeast community of Red Carpet, the Calgary Police Service (CPS) said Wednesday.
Officers were called to a home in the 6200 block of 17th Avenue S.E. around 10:30 a.m. for reports of a domestic incident involving a person in crisis, police say.
When officers arrived, a man exited the home and "a confrontation occurred," CPS said in a Wednesday afternoon news release.
One officer shot the man and another used his stun gun during the confrontation, police say. Officers immediately provided first aid; however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
CPS said no officers or other members of the public were hurt in the incident and no further details are available at this time.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) will be looking into the shooting.
ASIRT investigates serious allegations of police misconduct and when death or serious injury may have been caused by police.
