Calgary police are investigating the daylight robbery of Connie's Diamonds in the city's southwest, in which the owner was tied up during the brazen jewelry heist.

Police say two men entered the store in the 1800 block of Sirocco Drive S.W. around 11:15 a.m. Monday.

After tying up the shop owner, the men fled with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

The owner was able to free himself and call police, who are looking for the suspects.

It's rare to see a robbery where a person is tied up in a business, police say.
