Calgary beer matriarch Manjit Minhas joins Dragons' Den
Minhas Micro Brewery CEO to be on new season of CBC's reality TV show
The CEO of Calgary's Minhas Micro Brewery is the newest dragon in the den.
Manjit Minhas, 34, is one of three entrepreneurs joining the new season of the CBC reality TV show.
The other young woman coming on board is 29-year-old Buytopia.ca co-founder Michele Romanow, who also grew up in Calgary, and Canadian retail titan Joe Mimran — who started Joe Fresh.
"Him and I absolutely had some sparks, during the screen test so let's see how that goes," said Minhas.
Dragons have to put up their own money to back the ideas pitched on the show.
Minhas says she's interested in investing in businesses that are very different from past dragons.
"I bring a new dynamic to the panel and that is young mom and young entrepreneurs."
Minhas says she'll also support online apps and software.
Season 10 of Dragons' Den starts shooting next month and will air this fall.
