Dial-a-dope drug operation dismantled in Brooks
7 men arrested, warrants issued for 3 others
Police have dismantled what they are calling a group that played, "a significant role" in the cocaine trade in Brooks.
Seven suspected drug dealers and suppliers accused of running a dial-a-dope operation were arrested between Oct. 28 and 31. Warrants were also issued for three other suspects following a three-month investigation involving the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), the RCMP and Medicine Hat Police.
A dial-a-dope operation is when users call a phone number and set up a meeting with a dealer, usually for small amounts of drugs.

"The group played a significant role in cocaine trafficking within Brooks and the project implicated the suppliers and street-level dealers," police said in a release.
Seven men between the ages of 21 and 40 were arrested and are facing charges of drug trafficking.
Along with drug paraphernalia, 14 grams of cocaine were found when a warrant was used to search a home in Brooks.
