Calgary photographer Yves Dansereau got some great shots of a pair of bobcats that have been hanging around the Oakridge community in the city's southwest.
The wild cats will often make temporary winter dens under decks inside the city and — being opportunistic predators — they'll hunt small pets, wildlife experts warn.
In this case, Dansereau said the cats seemed to be after a squirrel in his neighbour's yard.
They posed for a couple of pictures before getting shy and skedaddling over a fence.
Low light and skittish subjects made it tricky to get the shots, said Dansereau, who used a Canon EOS 7D Mark II.
And, they're gone.
