Bobcat caught snoozing in Calgary backyard
It was a beautiful day again in Calgary, and it seems it's not just residents who were taking a moment to relax in the backyard.
A Calgary couple was lucky enough to snap some pictures of a bobcat that decided to take a snooze in the shade near Fish Creek Provincial Park on Sunday.
Officials at Alberta Fish and Wildlife were alerted, but did not interfere with the animal's beauty sleep.
Bobcats are known to wander through Calgary neighbourhoods from time to time. Fish and Wildlife says the animals are not dangerous, but will be removed if the situation warrants.
Snoozing <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> in south <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a>. It's really enjoying my parents backyard. Good job nephew replaced the grass last yr. <a href="http://t.co/MGJGgF1yBJ">pic.twitter.com/MGJGgF1yBJ</a>

Nothing like a long nap in thick, cool grass. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a> <a href="http://t.co/MrmkvUNFyg">pic.twitter.com/MrmkvUNFyg</a>

Adjusting it's position as the sun creeps closer. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> <a href="http://t.co/sxYzJwbeca">pic.twitter.com/sxYzJwbeca</a>

Sleeping <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> in South <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a>. Mum shot this from the garage window. I've asked her not to do that again. <a href="http://t.co/Q0L03hST76">pic.twitter.com/Q0L03hST76</a>

Dinnerless but a bath will do nicely instead. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a> <a href="http://t.co/OPT7tBnCDT">pic.twitter.com/OPT7tBnCDT</a>

Now you see why the young cats (like <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcats?src=hash">#bobcats</a>) are coloured the way they are. Camouflage in the sun. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a> <a href="http://t.co/1zy1asQF48">pic.twitter.com/1zy1asQF48</a>

I guess the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bobcat?src=hash">#bobcat</a> saw the squirrel in the tree. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/yyc?src=hash">#yyc</a> <a href="http://t.co/Ny8prSFNLT">pic.twitter.com/Ny8prSFNLT</a>
