Explore Alberta's spooky geography
From Bone Town to Dead Man's Flats, our province has many spooky-sounding haunts
As Halloween approaches, we thought we'd explore some of Alberta's most spookily named places — and let you do the same via the interactive map below.
The idea came from the Alberta Motor Association, which noted October through December is the second-slowest season for Alberta tourism, accounting for just 21 per cent of annual overnight visits to destinations within the province.
"Albertans are looking to stretch their vacation dollars more than ever," AMA Travel's director of sales Nikola Berube said in a release. "Travelling in the shoulder season is a smart way to do that without sacrificing quality."
And if you're looking for an appropriately named destination for the Halloween season, look no further than our map below. How many of these haunts are you familiar with?
