The Alberta NDP government is borrowing billions of dollars to finance its operations and will exceed its own legislated debt ceiling in three years.

CBC Calgary's website is bringing you the latest budget news, reaction, analyses and features about the budget all day, with a live blog gathering reaction after the budget is unveiled.

Listen to CBC Radio One starting at 3 p.m. for a special budget edition of the Homestretch. Host Doug Dirks will be joined by University of Calgary political scientist Melanee Thomas for analysis.

CBC reporter Scott Dippel will join them from the budget lock-up with the highlights, and you can hear Finance Minister Joe Ceci's speech live from the Alberta Legislature.

The Homestretch will also speak to Finance Minister Ceci just after 5 p.m. and gather budget reaction from opposition parties.

CBC News Calgary at 6 will also be bringing you more analysis of the budget from its special air time of 8 p.m. MT. The television cast will also be chatting with Ceci about the budget and will feature other analysis from The Strategists and CBC reporters.
