Police in Airdrie say an aggressive coyote suspected of biting two people and killing a puppy has been destroyed.
At about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a coyote attacked a three-month-old dog in the backyard of a house backing onto the Woodside Golf Course. The dog's owners chased the coyote to try to save the dog, but it didn't survive the attack.
The coyote was also aggressive toward the humans, RCMP said in a release Thursday.
Officials tracked down the coyote about an hour later and destroyed it.
Earlier in the week, a coyote attacked a six-year-old boy in the Nose Creek area, but he wasn't badly injured.
The boy's snowsuit protected him from being injured, and his mother's boyfriend kicked the animal off the child.
