$38M Priddis-area home with 3 bedrooms to hit Alberta market
Kettle Lake Ranch is the most expensive listing known in Alberta, says Sotheby's representative
A southern Alberta home is about to go on the market for a cool $38 million.
At that price it's the most expensive property known to be listed in Alberta, says Mark Evernden of Sotheby's International Realty Canada.

The property, located just outside of Priddis, is known as Kettle Lake Ranch and is a 15-minute drive from the edge of Calgary.
"The home is not just a home, it’s a package — it's on 240 acres of land," says Evernden.
By comparison, Calgary's most expensive home — based on the city’s estimated market property values as of July 2013 — is a $17.9-million Pumphill property.
'Country class'
"Its location — it's got country class, it’s very country rustic but, yes, it’s got a really tasteful elegance to it."
The property includes two private lakes and a number of creeks. The land was once owned by the Ford Motor Company family.
The 5,000-square-foot house itself is worth $5 million and has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a wine cellar and a workout room with a sauna. It was built three years ago.
"It’s not a huge house, it’s only 5,000 square feet of living space, but it’s the finishings that have been done to the house," said Evernden.
"There's been over $1 million of mill work done to the house — all the woodwork."
There's another $3 million of property built on the site including a guest house, a barn, a "hired-hands quarters" and a working antique gas station, says Evernden.
The current family had planned to build their dream house on the land, but the husband — a Calgary entrepreneur who bought and sold companies — passed away, says Evernden.
The property is expected to be posted on MLS on Friday for $37.88 million. All photos are from Sotheby's.
