2 charged with 1st-degree murder in Lethbridge motel killing

Two people have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a body that was found in a Lethbridge motel room over the weekend, police say.

Officers say they began investigating what they called a suspicious death after a body was found at a motel room along the 2200 block of Seventh Avenue South on Dec. 28, 2024.

The death is now being treated as a homicide and the two people arrested in connection with the incident are facing first-degree murder charges among other offences, police say.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not yet released the names of the victim or the accused.
