Calgary gears up for flood benefit concert
Halo High Water benefit a soldout event
A sold-out country and western benefit concert and telethon, officially known as Halo High Water, will be held tonight at Calgary's Jubilee Auditorium to raise money for Alberta flood relief.
Paul Brandt headlines the event, while actor-singer Tom Jackson is the host. The roster also includes performers such as George Canyon, Susan Aglukark, Dean Brody and Michelle Wright.
The concert will be broadcast on CBC Radio and CBC TV Alberta, starting at 7 p.m. MT. All funds raised will support the Calgary Foundation.

It has been over a month since floodwaters devastated parts of Alberta in one of the worst disasters to hit the province.
Many residents are still cleaning up and trying to rebuild their lives. The foundation set up its flood fund to help communities by issuing grants to a variety of charitable groups.
So far, the fund has raised $3.7 million.
