Social media users weigh in with humour after CBC News goes looking for elusive political animal

A CBC News tweet asking for the participation of B.C's young Conservatives in a story has elicited cheeky responses from social media users.

CBC Joan Donaldson scholar, Arielle Piat-Sauvé, spent a week looking for young political supporters who are actively campaigning for their party.

Piat-Sauvé had no trouble finding young Liberals, NDP, Green supporters, but she had trouble finding Conservatives in B.C. under the age of 30. 

"Unlike the other parties, the Conservatives do not have an official federal youth party wing, like the Young Liberals or Young NDP.

The former Progressive Conservative Youth Federation hasn't been around since 2004," said Piat-Sauvé.

"Instead, they have Campus Conservative groups spread across Canadian universities as well as provincially-led young conservative groups."

But that search also didn't turn up any active young campaigners, so CBC B.C. turned to social media to find some.
