Wonky street lines have Prince George drivers seeing double
City refusing to repaint wiggly highway divider lines saying there is no safety issue
Prince George drivers are complaining about crooked lane markings that are driving them to distraction.
An outside contractor was called in to repaint the worn off lines, but missed the mark.
Lines on several main roads veer off in different directions and serpentine back and forth.
Prince George resident Ernie William says the city needs to re-paint all the lines and keep the paint within the lines.
"I don't think they're doing their job properly. It could cause an accident or cause confusion," says William.
The City of Prince George has no plans to repaint. City spokesperson Mike Kellett says the untidy job was noticed, but later improved. There are no plans to re-paint unless there is a direct danger to drivers.
But drivers say that ignores another problem: optics.
Jamin Price of Kamloops says wonky divider lines leave a bad impression on tourists.
"My opinion wouldn't be very high. If they're not straight, it's just an eyesore."
