Students at University of British Columbia are being advised to walk in groups or pairs following an attack on a woman student earlier this month.
University RCMP Staff Sergeant Barry Hickman says the woman was walking home from the campus pub when she was attacked. She escaped unhurt.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 30's, with olive skin and short brown hair.
He was wearing a three-quarter length white coat and large wire-rimmed glasses.
Police say this incident is not related to a string of attacks in Kerrisdale and an assault on a woman jogging in the Endowment Lands last year.
