Skiers and boarders can finally hit the slopes this weekend as several resorts around B.C. open for the season.

Whistler Mountain gets the jump with opening day slated for tomorrow, but Blackcomb fires up on Thursday, along with Sun Peaks near Kamloops and Silver Star outside Vernon.

Kelowna's Big White resort and the Manning Park Resort in Alllison Pass have opening days planned for December 3rd, although Manning is only operating on weekends as the season gets underway.

Cross country skiers are already in the backcountry at Silver Star, where Nordic facilities opened yesterday, but the trails of
the Callaghan Valley near Whistler aren't expected to open until this Thursday.
