A B.C. Supreme Court judge has ruled that 30 hours of videotaped affidavits can be broadcast by news media after Crown lawyers at a hearing into the constitutionality of Canada's polygamy laws asked that the tapes not be aired. The affidavits — from people who once lived or still live in polygamous communities — had already been released for use in print and online coverage of the hearing. Some of the people testifying are in favour of the polygamist lifestyle and want the current laws dissolved. Others are opposed, as we hear in the excerpts in this report by the CBC's Natalie Clancy.
